The Importance of Qualified Leads

Why are qualified leads so important?Estonia Email List Some marketers just want any lead, or any visitor, to their site. They hope that their message will be so catching that they will sign up new clients or sell their product even to casual visitors. But what is the chance of this happening? If your product or service only appeals to a certain number of people, then the vast majority of visitors to your site are going to disappear quickly.

On the other hand, if your leads are qualified, there is a good chance they will stay at your website and try to get more information about the product or service you are selling. Why? Because it is already something they are interested in!

A lot of marketers try to play the "numbers game". That is, they believe that if they hit enough people they will find at least a percentage who are interested in their product or service. This may mean cold calling hundreds of numbers in the hope of getting just a few sales. It may mean buying email lists and sending out ads to thousands of different people all over the country (or even internationally). The sort of conversion rate for these types of campaigns can be extremely low. Imagine making one hundred calls and finding just one or two qualified leads! It is time consuming, it is expensive, and it is also very demoralizing for the marketer.

On the other hand, what if your marketing gets interested visitors straight to your website? You have a form on your website which will capture their name and email address, and maybe even their phone number. Once you have got this list of prospects, what do you think your conversion rate will be? Obviously, it is going to be a lot higher than 1 to 3%! Let say you do decide to call everyone who lands on your website and indicates that they are interested in learning more about your product or service. You may still end up making a hundred calls, but you could end up with a conversion of 50% or more! That is definitely worth the time and effort. Even those who you do not convert into customers straight away may allow you to send them further information, and later down the track may end up purchasing your product or making use of your service.

Getting qualified leads does require a certain amount of work and may also require some initial financial investment. For those who want to get leads as cheaply as possible there are ways of marketing your website that will eventually get it a high enough ranking in the search engine results pages (SERPs) that it will easily be found by those looking for a product or service similar to yours. This does require time though, and generally constant effort in the form of article marketing, regular updating, and judicious use of SEO techniques to ensure your site is indexed for the terms people would generally use to search for a product like yours. Usually marketers will combine such efforts with some targeted advertising to drive visitors to the website. Some marketers will use both Internet advertising and other forms of advertising (such as in local newspapers or the Yellow Pages) depending on their product or service.

A well thought out plan of attack will ensure a business owner will reap the rewards of qualified leads long after the initial effort has been put in. A good quality website with constantly updated content that brings visitors back time and time again, and is easily found by Google or Yahoo searches, is one that will continually attract more and more qualified leads and thus business for the owner.
